| | Life is full of moments that produce overwhelming emotions that sometimes can't be expressed with just a smile or a tear. They are such strong emotions that they force us to take a look at ourselves and decide how we are going to express them. The decision that is placed before us is whether we want to express those emotions or bottle them up inside. Bottling these emotions can have negative effects in our lives so God has given each of us tools to express these emotions in a way that not only blesses our own lives but also the lives of people around us. These tools are the gifts that He has given us as individuals. Over the years that I have been leading worship, I have been exposed to thousands of people and their gifts. Naturally I have more exposure to the artistic gifts of music, dance and art more than anything else given my line of work. It never ceases to amaze me to see God changing people's lives through each of us using our own gifts to bless others around us. I was given the gift of songwriting. My songwriting is usually birthed out of a strong emotional time in my life. I have to admit that I experience more writer's block than not. I find that lyrics come to me after either a really great time in my life or a very painful time of my life. So each song that I write naturally has a story behind it. Here I have compiled a list of some of my favorite songs that I have written. Some of them have been used in church settings where God used them to bless others and some have never really been used outside of my room. | |
